Hi, and welcome to my site! I’m Rowaida, and I’ve always been drawn to design, visual storytelling, and learning.
My journey began in studying architecture and after working in the private sector for two years, I decied to persue a master’s degree in Urban desing and planning abroad. During my master’s studies, I worked at the department as a research assistant, exploring VR and AR as tools to make city planning and design more inclusive. Afterwords, I interned with UNDP regional hub in Amman, focusing on innovation and resilience which deepened my interest in the role of technology in civic engagement and SDGs localization. Most recently, I spent five years with IOM-UN Migration, where I worked on field data collection and analysis to support the refugee resettlement program across the MENA region. This experience taught me how data, when combined with empathy, can help drive meaningful impact.
I feel I have so much I want to share beyond my professional work experience. Therfore, I created this website to share my personal perspective on social issues and cities through a series of blog posts, videos, and illustrations. Most importantly, to help me grow my creativity and advocacy, all while continuing to expand my technical skills and explore new ways to tell stories that matter.
